The UK government is under attack by debt campaigners as well as developing countries, for their plan to give £800 million to poorer countries in preparation for climate change, as a great bulk of the money would be in the form of loans, not grants, and would be sent via the World Bank instead of the UN.

Martin Khor, director of Third World Network, a grouping of international development agencies based in Malaysia believes; “The decision to deliver climate aid in the form of loans and not grants contradicts internationally agreed principles”

These principles clearly define that developed countries should take the main responsibility for fighting climate change, due to their massive role in creating the pollution that is being blamed for it’s occurance, as well as their more advanced technological and economic capabilities.

Khor also felt the money had to be sent through that UN as:

“Developing countries have repeatedly argued that any proposed funds for climate change, particularly in such significant amounts, should come under the direction of the state parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. When you think of global warming, you might envision dramatic scenes like melting glaciers and flooded coastlines. Agriculture is yet another area that will be seriously affected by climatic changes. Farming challenges may become even more intense. Today it is even more likely that a farmer will face droughts, floods, heat waves, and hurricanes. When global warming pushes ground level ozone to higher stages, the carbon dioxide fertilization is voided out by tropospheric ozone. These ozone levels are influenced by both emissions and temperature. When the temperature rises, the ground ozone levels will rise as well.

The overall predictions for farming in North America are neither all bad nor all good. Crops are expected to benefit from the effects of global warming in many regions for a short period of time. Crops will suffer in some places due to regional variations. The Great Plains are now more susceptible to drought. However, Canada will probably benefit from the added heat, causing farming of some crops to shift north.

Right now, and in the near future, global warming does not seem to pose a serious risk for North American farmers in general. There may even be some positive outcomes. However, in the long run, nothing will be able to mitigate the damage to agriculture that will occur if global warming is not slowed or stopped.

It is not easy to generalize the climate for a vast country like India that extends for thousands of miles in all the four directions. In western India, the best months are from October till March. Summers from April till August can be extremely hot in the desert areas of Rajasthan. The region receives maximum rainfall from mid-June till September.

There has been much more and much less CO2 in the atmosphere.
The CO2 has increased and decreased at slower and faster rates as well before humans exsisted.

Why is it any different now?
How can this be attributed to humans when this has all happend even before Humans were here?
It seems that the so called environ”MENTAL” crowd should be behind global warming, if it’s going to be as bad as they say. All of the catastrophy that they claim will happen

If you have a lot of older boxes and crates, they may break down faster in less than ideal conditions than would newer containers made of sturdier materials.

For instance, if you have a really valuable baseball card collection, get it out of your hot and humid attic and always store it in an area that is kept at a constant temperature. In the view of many, if not most, of these believers, the argument is over. The scientific questions have been asked, answered and verified. Not perfectly, perhaps, but close enough to know that unless meaningful action is undertaken now, disaster on a worldwide scale is inevitable.

This means, of course, that unless a global climate forecaster is 100 percent correct in his choice of variables and equations, his resulting forecast will be less than perfect. The only question is to what degree, and for that a (very) little review of probability theory may be in order.

On average, if I flip a coin, the coin will land “heads” one out of every two flips (1/2), and if I roll one die, I’ll get a three one out of every six rolls (1/6).

But on average how many attempts will it take for me to achieve both a head on the flip and a three on the roll? Probability theory says that if you multiply the two “fractions of probability,” you will have your answer. In this example, if you multiply 1/2 and 1/6, you get 1/12. This means that on average it will take 12 attempts to achieve the desired result.

Let’s assume that the really excellent climate scientists have determined that every possible global climate affecting variable is now known and that these scientists also know with a 99 percent degree of accuracy how all of these variables interact and affect each other.

And since Freedictionary.com says several means more than two or three, let’s assume that Scientific American’s Estimate of “at least several hundred” climate variables means 400 total. According to probability theory, what then is the probability that these experts will be correct in their predictions?

Just use the same drill as the coin and die example above. Take the fraction 99/100 and multiply it times itself 400 times. The result is 0.0179505533, which converts to 1.8 percent.

This means that if we lived in a world in which virtually perfect humans could devise a virtually perfect climate model, there would be less than one chance in 50 that the forecast would be correct.

With the odds of a correct diagnosis at greater than 50 to 1 and the projected cure estimated in the hundreds of trillions of dollars, I believe a little skepticism is in order.

In an examination of the international controversy that is climate change and global warming, there are two conflicting positions and interest groups – the Scaremongers who fully support the theory, and the Idealists who want more concrete evidence. However in Australia much of the so-called support for the ‘Yes’ case is based on distorted information, untruths, and naked lies.

Of all the countries in the western world, Australia is the one that suffers most from the vagaries of the weather. At any one time, part of the country experiences drought. At the moment large parts of inland Australia on the Pacific side of the country are experiencing this problem whilst other areas are enjoying more favorable conditions.

The Scaremongers believe the present drought is the worst ever – it may be the worst in living memory, but it’s not the worst since European civilization started in 1788. The Federation drought of 1895 to 1903 is considered to be the one that caused the most damage to the economy and life in general.

The farming community in rural Australia accept drought as a normal aspect of life. Since the 1860s there have been 9 periods of major and prolonged drought covering large areas of the country, excluding the current situation. In addition there has been 6 droughts during this period covering smaller regions of the country.

During the periods of pre-European settlement, that is pre-1788, when industrial pollution could not have caused greenhouse gases and therefore affected climate change, droughts were just as prevalent. Examination of rings on trees and coral support this view. In fact examination of a piece of coral taken from the Barrier Reef in northern Australia shows that there was a drought in that region lasting 20 years from 1660.

However, in spite of the overwhelming evidence that droughts are a regular occurrence of Australian farming life, the media still push the line that the present drought is caused by global warming. Even the saner and more responsible parts of the press insist that Australia’s current predicament is being exacerbated by the government’s late signing of the Kyoto agreement.

Just more unsupported distortions of the truth from the people who are happiest when they’re dispelling doom and gloom.

Droughts in Australia are caused by, and have always been caused by, the activity of the El Nino Southern Oscillation – ELSO.  This is a complex weather pattern that influences climatic conditions throughout the Pacific region. This phenomenon only became known in the late 70s and although much more work needs to be done to understand its complexity, weather scientists are now able to determine the influence it has on countries bordering the south Pacific fairly accurately.

However, the average man in the street now believes changes in climatic conditions in Australia are caused by global warming, rather than the more likely affect of the ELSO. Aided by the local media who attribute every unusual circumstance to world-wide global warming, from the increase in bush-fires to the desalination problems of the River Murray to the decline in coral growth on the Great Barrier Reef, the gullible public blindly follow what they’ve been told.

So successful are the Scaremongers in Australia that 2 out of  3 people writing letters to the press and web sites vigorously support the concept of man-made global warming. In actual fact, Australia’s last Federal election, in November 2007, was won by the party most vocal in supporting this theory. A gullible public were frightened into voting for a party that claimed to be able to play God.

So what this web site, and other similar ones, is saying is that every climatic disaster that’s occurred in the last 50 to 100 years has been caused by man-made climate change, but they don’t know what caused climatic disasters before that.

Quite plain and simple, an increase in greenhouse gases by the burning of fossil fuels, allegedly causing climate change cannot be proven or supported by the sparse facts presented by its gullible supporters. Hysteria outweighs credible facts.
