Lawn & Shrub Care Jacksonville

Landscape management can be a time consuming and costly endeavor for homeowners. We commonly see homeowners applying the wrong products to treat misidentified problems, thus wasting money and unnecessarily applying chemicals to our environment. That is why many homeowners choose to hire a professional. There are many factors that are involved in maintaining a landscape including plant material requirements, proper identification of insects, diseases, weeds, soil conditions, and growing conditions to name a few.

TURF MANAGMENT PROGRAMS

Our specially trained staff has the expertise to identify problems and use the correct products and application techniques to ensure the health of your landscape. Our turf management programs combine the finest slow release granular and liquid fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides. Safari Termite & Pest Control, Inc. and its sales and service staff are certified in Best Management Practices meaning they are trained to apply all products in a professionally and environmentally responsible manner.

Fertilizer

Our fertilizer programs utilize professionally blended slow release granular fertilizer and liquid fertilizer, insuring that your lawn and shrubs will be as green and healthy as they can. You can expect to see results in the color of your lawn in as little as two weeks. Shrubs usually take a little longer before you see the benefits of the fertilizer application. In general your lawn and shrubs will attain their full potential after the second application of fertilizer. Additionally we offer a specially formulated annual tree fertilizer designed to slowly fertilize your trees throughout the year from just one application. All of our fertilizer applications follow all local and state ordinances for nitrogen applications to St. Augustine turf.

Weed Control

Aggressive broadleaf weeds such as dollar weed, dandelion, and clover can take over a lawn in a short period of time. We use a blend of both pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides to make sure you have the most weed free lawn possible. We guarantee greater than 50% control of broadleaf weeds after the first treatment. You can expect to see results within two to three weeks after application has been made. Our shrub weed programs were developed for homeowners who do not want to spend their valuable time with this back breaking chore. Most shrub weed applications will show results in as little as two days.

Insect Control

Turf destroying insects can be difficult for homeowners to properly identify and control. There are many insects that can cause significant damage to your St. Augustine lawn. The most common turf destroying insects such as chinch bugs, mole crickets, and sod web worms can destroy a lawn quickly if left untreated. Shrub insect control requires more expertise than turf insect control. Shrub insects are numerous and varied, and some are plant specific. Some of our more common landscape shrubs are more prone to attack than others. Care must be taken to apply the proper insecticide for the plant as some plants are sensitive to certain chemicals.

Disease Control

Identifying landscape diseases and the underlying causes can be challenging. Most diseases are due to environmental conditions causing stress to plant material. When plants are stressed they become prone to disease. Correcting the environmental conditions that cause disease problems can be challenging and sometimes cost prohibitive to correct. In most cases turf and shrub disease can be traced to too much moisture. Some factors that can lead to this are overwatering, improper watering, soil compaction, shade or usually a combination of reasons. Other disease can be caused by bacteria or viruses. It is important to understand most fungicides do not cure diseases but help manage them. The environment conditions must be addressed to help in there management.

Generally within two weeks. Green up is mainly tied to the weather, the warmer the temperatures the faster the green up.

How long until the weeds die?

Depending on the weed variety you will see discoloration starting in 5 to 7 days. Most broadleaf weeds will die off in two to four weeks.

How long will my family and pets need to stay off the grass after treatment?

People and pets will need to stay off treated surfaces until dry. Usually 1 to 2 hours.

Will I need to lay new sod?

In most cases the turf will heal itself. If the damage is greater than 2' X 2' we recommend placing a few pieces of sod in the damaged area to avoid encroachment of aggressive weeds such as crabgrass.
